DMR, ProVoice EDACS, NXDN

You filled out Zip Scanners' "Which Scanner Recommendation" form and we at Zip Scanners replied back with the scanners that will work for your area. You read more, and it says, "The following software upgrades (read more) are required in your area".

These software are called DMR, ProVoice EDACS, and NXDN. Some locations use a software to help distort their frequencies. We recommend looking up your area on Radio Reference to see if there are any presence of them for the public safety.

Here is a good example below involving Bexar County in Texas. As you can see, the San Antonio/Bexar County has a system on the ProVoice EDACS software. There is also a note about San Antonio Police using this system exactly to the right of the system's name. 

Even then, the conventional frequencies are also on the ProVoice EDACS software as noted from Radio Reference.
